Mark has practiced law in the Lehigh Valley for almost 30 years. He has assisted non-profit organizations in all kinds of legal matters, including by way of example with respect to their formation, in obtaining state and federal tax-exempt status, in board governance matters, and in reorganizations and mergers, and has served as borrower’s counsel in connection with several tax-exempt, bond and New Markets Tax Credit financings. Mark has counseled numerous small businesses in the formation and start-up phase (including the preparation of creation documents and shareholder and limited liability operating agreements), as well as with respect to ongoing legal matters.

Mark currently serves as the Chair of the Public Policy Committee of the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). He previously served on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Allentown, the Board of Directors of Lehigh Valley Social Impact Center, and as President of the Board of Directors of the Community Music School, Allentown, as well as on the Ethics Committee of Phoebe Home.

Mark has been an adjunct professor in the M.B.A. program at Moravian College and has conducted numerous seminars regarding non-profit issues and health law. An active member of the Rotary Club of Nazareth, Mark enjoys exercise and being outdoors. He is married to Teresa Aurand, and has two grown sons, Ben and Josh. His family also includes four adopted shelter cats, Zoe, Lea, DaVinci and Diego.

Greater Good has been a dream of Mark’s for many years. Tom Petty’s unexpected passing in fall 2017 was another reminder that one should not continually put off one’s dreams.  So in case you need further inspiration to “run down your dream”, please enjoy this Tom Petty classic.
